If there is something that fascinates my family, it’s the popular recipe of “Pancakes with Dulce de Leche“, very different from the pancakes that are often consumed here in the United States. And a reason why they are liked so much, is because they are very easy to make and they are just delicious.
A fascinating thing about pancakes is that they are a neutral dough, therefore they can be made with either sweet and savory fillings. Of course my children love them, and now that the kids are back to school again, every day when they come back home from school they are hungry. So, I have to come up with something to give them as a snack, and this is an excellent alternative, especially if we also give them a glass of milk to go with it!
That is why I came across this delicious idea of Whole Wheat Pancakes with Milk, and the fillings can vary depending on what you have available at home. You can use the type of flour that you prefer to prepare the pancakes. I chose whole wheat flour this time.
And the filling is very simple and practical, my children loved it.
The good thing is that you can have the pancakes made ahead of time, and you fill them at the time of serving.
During school season, it is very important to provide our children with the necessary nutrients so that they have the correct amount of energy and growth. There are alarming statistics such as one in every two children aged nine or older not consuming enough calcium, vitamin D, and potassium. And 75% of children under nine years of age having insufficient vitamin D and potassium.
Every glass of milk you give them contains 9 essential nutrients for their growth, including 8 grams of protein, vitamin A for a healthy immune system, vitamin B for them to have enough energy, and vitamin D and calcium.
